MDPI Signs 5-Year Agreement with the International Society of Sports Nutrition

Following an exciting new five-year agreement announced in February with the International Society of Sports NutritionMDPI will begin publishing the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (JISSN) starting January 2027, reflecting a shared commitment to open access and the global dissemination of high-quality research.


Focusing on the effects of sports nutrition and supplementation on body composition, performance, and metabolism, the JISSN has established itself as a strong voice and trusted source of research in the field. JISSN represents a valuable addition to MDPI’s varied journal portfolio, complementing our other high-impact journals across nutrition and health sciences.


José Antonio, CEO of ISSN and Co-Editor-in-Chief of JISSN, described the partnership as an exciting new chapter, reflecting a shared commitment to accessible, transparent, and impactful research, as well as initiatives to streamline peer review. Reinforcing this commitment, Carla Aloè, Head of Societies and Acquisition at MDPI, emphasized the importance of preserving the journal’s strong reputation while supporting editorial rigor and efficient publishing.
