Driving MDPI’s US Expansion: Bob Vrooman Named Head of Business Development in MDPI US Office

Robert (Bob) Vrooman, taking charge of the Philadelphia office as Head of Business Development, will lead the support of US-based researchers, with the office serving as a base for partnerships, editorial operations, and academic engagement. 

Prior to joining MDPI, Bob managed editorial and acquisition operations at Sage Publications. His time there has shaped his focus on building relationships with societies working across commercial and editorial operations. Drawing on his experience, Bob will play a crucial role in the expansion of our US office. We are excited to have him as MDPI’s new US Head of Business Development!

Bob highlights that “MDPI is already a trusted partner of the North American research community, due in no small part to our dedicated team in Canada. Launching our first US office in Philadelphia is a great first step towards expanding MDPI’s market share and recognition in the US. I’m thrilled to be a part of this new phase in MDPI’s journey.”
